Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain defender Milan Skriniarwho looks set to leave the French capital this month.
Ange Postecoglou needs defensive recruits especially so at centre-back with Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero both out injured until the end of the month.
Tottenham have been in talks with PSG over a deal for Randal Kolo Munai and it looks as though a deal for the Slovakian defender has also been discussed.
Tottenham fans react to Milan Skriniar links
Tottenham fans have emphatically rejected the idea of bringing PSG defender Milan Skriniar to North London.
Skriniar is being linked with a loan move to Spurs with the 29-year-old set to choose between the two Premier League clubs and Galatasaray, as per L’Equipe.
Archie Gray and Radu Dragusin have been Tottenham’s first choice centre backs for the past month or so with Van de Ven and Romero sidelined.
It’s clear that a new centre-back needs to be signed this month and Skriniar has reappeared on their radar.
Jose Mourinho was keen to bring the experienced defender to Tottenham back in 2021 and Antonio Conte was also linked with a move.
However, this time around, the club’s supporters are not so keen on his signature and have made their feelings clear on X.
One fan said: “What a terrible fit this would be. He and Dragusin would be an absolute car crash.”
“Bad fit for Angeball. It’s another Dragusin. Of course, he was better some years ago, but still a good defender, but not for a high line,” added another.
This supporter claims Postecoglou does not want to sign a player just for the sake of getting in a body through the door: “Ange said he doesn't want just anyone in. Skriniar doesn't fit the system wouldn't make much sense.”
“One thing though as good of a defender Skriniar is do you think he would be good in a high-line system because I don’t think he is very quick,” stated another fan.
How has Milan Skriniar done at PSG this season?
Skriniar has played very little football at the Parc des Princes this term having made just five appearances for the French champions.
The defender has fallen out of favour with manager Luis Enrique and it is clear as to why he wants to move on this month.
Moving to Tottenham might not be the best step if regular football is what he wants as Romero and Van de ven will just reclaim their places in the team once they return from injury.
