Crystal Palace loanee Trevoh Chalobah has taken to social media to share a fitness update after reports revealed Chelsea were seeking to recall him.

According to The Athletic, Chelsea may recall the 25-year-old after serious injuries to centre-back duo Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile.

Speaking in his post-match press conference after Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Saturday (January 4), Maresca confirmed Fofana could be out for the rest of the season.

Maresca said: “Unfortunately he could be out for the season,” said the head coach. “We don’t know exactly for the entire season but for sure he could be out for part of it.”

Fabrizio Romano has also reported that Enzo Maresca’s side have discussed a deal for ex-centre-back Marc Guehi, who has 18-months on his contract.

Football Insider have since revealed (January 8) that Guehi is Chelsea’s top priority and have opened preliminary talks over a deal with the England international keen on a return.

Trevoh Chalobah raring to go as Chelsea return rumours swirl

Chalobah has been key since temporarily joining Crystal Palace in the summer, starting all of his 14 games across all competitions, scoring three goals, and providing zero assists in his 1243 minutes of action.

The centre-back took to Instagram to share a fitness update with his fans, seemingly cooling down after a long day of training.

Chelsea’s draw with Palace was their fourth Premier League game without a win, tumbling from second to fourth over the festive period.

Maresca’s side will next host League Two Morecambe in their first FA Cup game of the season, in what should be a routine win for the top-flight club.
