'Unbelievable': Emmanuel Adebayor says Newcastle have a player who is just unreal
Today at 11:15 AM
Emmanuel Adebayor knows a thing or two about being a top Premier League striker.
Adebayor has played, and starred, for three of the biggest teams in England during his career at Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham.
Adebayor knew how to find the back of the net in the Premier League, that's for sure.
Now, speaking to Optus Sport, Adebayor has been discussing which modern-day players he really enjoys watching.
Interestingly, Adebeyor said that there's nobody he's too taken aback by in terms of their personality away from the pitch, but he is a huge fan of Newcastle'sAlexander Isak on the pitch.
Indeed, Adebayor says that he's a huge fan of Isak and the way he plays, claiming that he's beautiful to watch.
Emmanuel Adebayor loves Alexander Isak
Adebayor spoke about how much he rates Isak as a player, claiming that the striker is a top player who has it all.
Adebayor says that he even messaged Isak last week to sing his praises, but he's yet to receive a reply from the Newcastle striker.
"Off the pitch, there is nobody to be honest with you, but on the pitch, there is this guy, Isak from Newcastle, unbelievable. I like the way he plays, I like the way he moves. He moves kind of like a snake, he's slim, he has speed. When I see him playing I hold the seat tight and he's beautiful to watch," Adebayor said.
"Last week I slid into his DMs and said I love the way you play football. He didn't read it yet, he's busy scoring goals."
Alexander Isak compared to Emmanuel Adebayor
Isak is certainly a top striker, as was Adebayor in his day.
It's very interesting to compare the two players' Premier League stats.
Alexander Isak | Emmanuel Adebayor | |
Games | 72 | 242 |
Goals | 46 | 97 |
Assists | 8 | 38 |
Goals per game | 0.64 | 0.4 |
Most goals in a season | 21 | 24 |
Adebayor, of course, has scored more goals than Isak up to this point, but Isak is scoring at a greater rate and is on course to eventually overtake Adebayor if he stays in England.
Who knows? Perhaps Isak could follow in Adebayor's footsteps and become Arsenal's starting striker.
Arsenal are interested in Isak, and he could well end up being a star for Mikel Arteta's side at some point.
Arsenal are also keen on Evan Ferguson, but after Adebayor's glowing review, the north London club may be even more tempted to move for Isak.
