Arsenal and Manchester City have been trading blows at the top end of the Premier League table for the last two seasons.

But this has not stopped Kevin de Bruyne from lavishing one of Arsenal‘s players with praise after another competitive battle for the Premier League crown.

Mikel Arteta‘s side narrowly missed out on their first top flight trophy in two decades after Manchester City pipped them on the home stretch.

Summer additions are going to be eyed at the Emirates Stadium as Arteta looks to close the gap on the reigning champions once again.

The Gunners have already been linked with bolstering their defence through addition of Nottingham Forest’s Murillo.

However, De Bruyne has recently admitted there is one player at Arsenal who has really impressed him of late.

Arsenal defender is seriously impressing Kevin de Bruyne

The north London side have some serious options in defence following years of recruitment work done by Edu Gaspar and Arteta.

Arsenal have been able to bring in some top defenders over recent years with the Gunners boasting one of Europe’s best centre-back partnerships.

William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes have formed a seriously impressive relationship in the Arsenal backline – one which many clubs will be envious of.

However, De Bruyne has said there is another player at Arsenal who has caught his eye under Arteta.

The Belgium international is currently away at this summer’s Euros where his side have secured a last 16 following their draw against Ukraine.

“I love Zinna [Oleksandr Zinchenko]. Zinna is [an] unbelievable guy,” De Bruyne told the media on Wednesday after the goalless draw in Stuttgart.

“I played with him for five years and he’s done an incredible job for us at City and then he went to Arsenal and he’s doing really good.

“I think he’s one of the leaders of Ukraine, he’s a close friend and I wish him all the best.”

Oleksandr Zinchenko could leave Arsenal this summer

It has been suggested Oleksandr Zinchenko is one of the players who Arsenal have informed that he can find a new club this summer.

Having signed for the Gunners back in 2022, the £30m defender has made a total of 66 appearances under Arteta.

But despite receiving such high praise from one of Europe’s top players in De Bruyne, it seems as if Arsenal would be open to an upgrade this summer.

The Ukraine international still has two years left on his deal so the north London side would be in a strong position to demand a considerable fee for the 27-year-old.
