'Unbelievable': Mikel Arteta blown away by what one Arsenal player who is performing well beyond his years

Arsenal continued their fine form this season by seeing off Southampton at home today as they head into the international break in fine fettle.

The Gunners had to come from behind as Cameron Archer fired the Saints into a shock lead.

However, Arsenal had more than enough in the tank as their top stars produced the goods to get them over the line and ensure another big three points.

Of course, key to the performance today was winger Bukayo Saka.

The England man laid on two goals and scored another himself as he once again showed his quality in wide areas and in the final third when it mattered.

And speaking about Saka, Mikel Arteta has lauded the Arsenal man for what he’s producing.

Speaking to the media immediately after the win over Southampton today, Arteta was questioned about Saka and his age.

And Arteta admitted that right now, he doesn’t see Saka as one of his younger players anyway.

“I certainly don't do it. There are the stats and you cannot get away from that and what he's doing at his age is unbelievable. We have many examples of that as well,” Arteta said.

It is quite amazing really that Bukayo Saka is still only 23 but here we are.

We see a player who on a weekly basis seems to the produce the goods for Arsenal and today, when it mattered, he was right there to get them out of the mire.

Saka seems to be on the stats sheet somewhere every single week with an assist or a goal and today he delivered both.

For Arsenal, the England man is simply irreplaceable and while the clamour for a top number nine might continue for a few windows yet, keeping hold of Saka is the most important piece of business for the Gunners.
