'Unrealistic figures' – Buying Brentford player seen as impossible, so loan is the only way

Mads Roerslev was linked with an exit from Brentford yesterday, with Italian side Udinese interested in a move for the defender.

Gazzetta dello Sport have today reported the Serie A outfit are looking to improve at right-back and they believe Roerslev will improve their side, especially in terms of consistency.

The report states that one drawback in the move is what Brentford would ask for the 25-year-old Dane.

It’s thought the Bees want about €12m to sell him and Udinese do not believe that they have enough funds to match that price tag. They see is as 'unrealistic figures' for a January transfer.

That is why a loan move is viewed as a more viable solution for the club and it’s unclear whether they would want to add an option to buy permanently or not.

Roerslev has played 19 times in all competitions for Brentford this season and has established himself as a first-team regular under Thomas Frank.

He is quite an important part of the squad. Considering that, it makes sense that he will not be allowed to leave cheaply.

Even €12m seems too low, despite what Udinese think, and a loan attempt may be even less realistic.
