Van Dijk shares Liverpool training ground update pre-Man United showdown

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has taken to social media to share a training ground update ahead of their Premier League game with rivals Man United on Sunday (January 5).
The 33-year-old has been key to Liverpool’s remarkable first half of the season, starting all 24 of his games across all competitions, popping up two goals, and one assist in his 2160 minutes of action.
Arne Slot has Liverpool firing on all cylinders ahead of their game against Man United, sitting top of both the Premier League and the new Champions League league phase.
Ruben Amorim, on the other hand, has struggled since taking over from Erik ten Hag in November, winning four, drawing one, and losing six of his 11 games at the helm.
United are currently closer to the relegation zone than they are the top four going into the game against Liverpool, languishing down in 14th with just 22 points from their 19 games.

The Dutch centre-back is one of three key Liverpool players, alongside Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold who are out of contract at the end of the season.
Van Dijk is now free to negotiate a pre-agreement deal with foreign clubs over a move in the summer transfer window after going into the last six months of his contract.
Still, the defender appeared undeterred by the uncertainty regarding his future, taking to Instagram to share a training image ahead of their game against United.
Liverpool will travel to North London after the game with United to face Tottenham in the League Cup semi-final as they seek to retain the trophy they won last season.
Slot’s side will then face Accrington Stanley in their first FA Cup game of the season, with their eyes on more silverware.
