Virgil van Dijk responded to Liverpool target Jeremie Frimpong's latest post as speculation over the right-back's future continues to grow.
Liverpool could be in the market for a new right-back, with Trent Alexander-Arnold yet to agree on a new contract and is coming dangerously close to leaving as a free agent.
However, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson exclusively told Football Insider that Alexander-Arnold has already signed a deal with Real Madrid.
With the England international now in the final months of his contract, he has long been free to negotiate a potential free transfer with other clubs.
As a result, the Reds are already exploring possible replacements, with Football Insider revealing that Liverpool are interested in Bayer Leverkusen's Frimpong.
While speculation mounts, the former Manchester City academy graduate posted an update from international duty, where he is currently training alongside several Liverpool players.
Liverpool face battle with Man United and Man City for Jeremie Frimpong
The right-back shared a message after the Netherlands' 2-2 draw with Spain, saying: "Disappointed not to get the win. Recharge and go again."
Liverpool captain Van Dijk showed his appreciation by liking and commenting a tornado emoji, whilst Ryan Gravenberch also dropped a message with emojis, praising the full-back.
Liverpool fans have urged the club to sign Frimpong, but while the admiration from both supporters and players is clear, there is strong competition for his signature.
Manchester City were heavily linked with a move to re-sign Frimpong in January as they begin planning for life after Kyle Walker.
Meanwhile, Manchester United fans are also keen on the club making a move for Frimpong, with reports revealing that he has a £33 million release clause in his contract.
The 24-year-old was instrumental in Bayer Leverkusen's title-winning campaign last season and has continued that form this year, contributing four goals and 11 assists.

Conor Bradley should replace Trent Alexander-Arnold for Arne Slot
Despite Liverpool's reported interest in Frimpong, signing a new right-back may not be Arne Slot's top priority.
Liverpool have been urged to start Conor Bradley in the scenario Alexander-Arnold leaves after his steady rise into the side.
The young full-back has performed admirably as his deputy, but whether he is given a long-term starting role remains to be seen.
