Last week, Onda Cero reported Chiquinho could return to Wolverhampton Wanderers as RCD Mallorca cut short his loan deal next month.

Última Hora backs that up and explains why the winger could return to Wolves in the winter market.

Wolves sanctioned a loan move on deadline day and the La Liga side were initially rubbing their hands to have secured the 24-year-old’s services.

Back in September, Mallorca sporting Pablo Ortells stated there’s an option to make his loan stay permanent. The initial excitement around Chiquinho’s arrival at the Spanish club has now died down.

The Wolves man has failed to score or assist from seven La Liga matches, and he’s played only six minutes in the last month.

Due to other options at the club, the chances of the Portuguese featuring regularly are low. Therefore, Última Hora state it’s best for Mallorca and the player to part ways with each other in January.

It hasn’t worked out and therefore, the report states Mallorca’s ‘initial plan has to be changed’.

Chiquinho can’t be loaned out to another club in January as he made two appearances for Wolves this season. New manager Vítor Pereira will have to make use of him if Mallorca decide to send him back to Molineux.
