'West Ham above all' – Hammers initiate contact after showing 'strong interest' in signing, manager needs convincing

West Ham United are among the clubs chasing Juventus' Matias Soulé in the summer window.

Earlier this month, Tuttosport said the Serie A side need €40m, while the Hammers want to pay half of it. On Sunday, Gazzetta dello Sport stated Juve have lowered their request to €35m.

A fresh report from Calciomercato states the winger has ended up on the sights of several European clubs, 'above all, West Ham'.

Julen Lopetegui's side have shown 'strong interest' in the 21-year-old and initiated contact with his representatives in 'recent days'.

The Argentina U21 international was on loan at Frosinone last season, where he managed 11 goals and three assists from 36 league games.

Earlier claims had stated Juventus want to cash in from his sale this summer. There’s been a chance of stance as new manager Thiago Motta is a great admirer of the player and wants to keep him.

Motta wants to take a closer look at the attacker during pre-season and could include him in his plans. Therefore, Giuntoli is studying other players to sell to help Juve to improve their finances.

In other words, Motta will have to be convinced for West Ham to stand a chance to sign Soulé this summer. Whether this is a negotiating tactic is unclear.
