'What I've heard': Alan Shearer shares what he's heard about PGMOL overturning Myles Lewis-Skelly's red card

Despite Myles Lewis-Skelly's incredibly controversial red card against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Arsenal were still able to find a way to win 1-0 away from home.
Riccardo Calafiori, who actually came on to replace Lewis-Skelly at left-back, ended up being the match-winner for Arsenal, dispatching a much-needed half-volley into Jose Sa's far corner.
Since the game, controversy about Lewis-Skelly's red card has been incredibly loud, but it might have been even more deafening were Arsenal unable to win and lose further ground to Liverpool in the title-race as a result.
The decision has caused widespread outrage and Michael Oliver has been criticised for his decision, one Darren England also failed to intervene with when operating VAR.
A fascial sequence of events in the eyes of many, who are now expecting the PGMOL to overturn the decision in swift fashion.
Alan Shearer thinks PGMOL won’t overturn Myles Lewis-Skelly red card
However, when speaking on 'The Rest Is Football' podcast, Alan Shearer admitted that he's heard otherwise.
Discussing Lewis-Skelly's red card again alongside Gary Lineker, Shearer said that he's got the impression that the PGMOL won't reverse their decision, given that they don’t that there was enough reason to do so.
Speaking about Oliver's initial decision to send off Lewis-Skelly, Lineker began: "It was actually baffling. I hope they turn it over for the youngster, because he doesn’t deserve a red."
"He doesn’t deserve a red in his record."
Shearer replied: "It would be really interesting, because listening to, listening to one or two reports today, and obviously people leak things out.
"And those one or two reports that I saw would back up the PGMOL by them not going against it and go on and saying that they thought it wasn’t enough to earn it or overturn it.
"I’ll be fascinated. But that’s what I’ve heard one or two things today. So it would be really interesting to see whether they back that decision or not."
Mikel Arteta will be fuming if Myles Lewis-Skelly misses three matches
Of course, Arteta was hoping that Arsenal won't even need to appeal Oliver's decision given it appeared to be so obviously wrong.
As it stands, Lewis-Skelly will miss crucial games against Manchester City, Newcastle United and Leicester City.
Of course, Arsenal's game against Newcastle is their second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final, a game they can't afford to be without one of their best performers right now.
Fortunately, there is some good news surrounding Lewis-Skelly right now.
Arsenal are close to handing Lewis-Skelly a new contract, one that will keep him at the Emirates for the long-term.
A superb young talent, and it would be an injustice were he to miss three seriously important games for the Gunners.
