Footage of Liverpool defender Andy Robertson launching an X-rated rant at David Coote has re-emerged following the referee’s suspension.
On Monday, a video clip appearing to show Coote describing Liverpool as ‘s**t’ and former Reds boss Jurgen Klopp ‘a German c**t’ circulated on social media.
Klopp is also described as ‘f****g arrogant’ in the clip, with Coote critical of Klopp’s conduct in a Premier League clash between Liverpool and Burnley in 2020.
In the alleged footage, Coote said: “Aside from having a right pop at me when I refereed them against Burnley in lockdown, then he accused me of lying and then just had a right f*****g pop at me. I’ve got no interest in speaking to somebody who’s f*****g arrogant.'
The PGMOL suspended the 42-year-old official on Monday pending a full investigation with Coote understood to have admitted the video, which is several years old, is genuine.
In that 2020 clash between Liverpool and Burnley, Scotland international Robertson and Klopp were both furious with Coote, adamant the Reds should have been awarded a penalty in the first-half.
The exchange was picked up by BT Sport's pitchside cameras, capturing Robertson giving Coote, along with assistants Marc Perry and Nicholas Hopton and earful as the players left the pitch.
'How that’s not a penalty on me,' Robertson said. 'What’s the point in having it (VAR)? What is the point in having you? Wait until you see it.
'Wait until you go in and see that and you'll go, ‘How the f**k is that not a penalty?’
With Klopp also remonstrating with the Robertson added: 'Yous didn't see f*****g anything. Yous didn't see anything the whole game apart from f*****g booking him in the last minute.
'F**k me. What's the point of having yous in the middle? What's the point of having you? Eh? F**k me, honestly.'
Coote refereed Liverpool’s 2-0 win against Aston Villa on Saturday.
