Wilson Isidor responds to major Sunderland transfer news
Today at 03:00 AM
Wilson Isidor dropped a major hint on social media shortly as Fabrizio Romano shared significant news regarding a Sunderland transfer.
The Frenchman scored the only goal in Sunderland's 1-0 win against Portsmouth on 5 January, securing their 14th victory of the season.
He was active on social media shortly after, hinting that he could soon be joined by a fellow Frenchman, following news of a potential transfer.
According to Romano, Sunderland have agreed to a loan deal with a buy option for AS Roma midfielder Enzo Le Fee.
Minutes after the news broke, Isidor took to X, posting a caption featuring the eyes and popcorn emojis, fuelling speculation about the move.
Exciting times ahead for Sunderland fans
Le Fee joined Roma from Lorient just last summer for a fee of around €20 million (£16.6 million) but has struggled to make an impact in Italy [Football Italia].
A signing of this magnitude typically happens when the player is well known to the manager, which is the case here. Coach Régis Le Bris worked with the player during his time at Lorient.
Isidor's excitement is understandable, as he is undoubtedly set to add to his eight goals this season with the new signing behind him.
With star Jobe Bellingham being linked with a move away, some have speculated that Le Fee might replace him.
However, that seems unlikely, as the Tyneside club are pushing for promotion to the Premier League this season.
Football Insider exclusively revealed that they are also confident in keeping Anthony Patterson this month. This is despite interest from Manchester United and Tottenham
If Le Bris is able to keep all these key players, alongside the added creativity of Le Fee, promotion back to the top division could be on the horizon.
In other news, Borja Sainz could face an extended ban after what he did against Sunderland.
