Wolves bid isn't convincing – Gary O'Neil's side told to offer more than double

Earlier today, Ouest-France stated Wolverhampton Wanderers have positioned themselves to sign Bastien Meupiyou. It was also stated the Premier League side have made a second bid of €4m to FC Nantes.

There was no mention whether the Ligue 1 side are willing to accepted Wolves' offer or their demand to sanction the 18-year-old's sale this summer.

L'Equipe have provided more on this matter, after relaying Ouest-France's claim about the English club's last bid of €4m.

This offer hasn't convinced the French club so far as the report states they want €10m to part ways with the defender. In other words, Gary O’Neil's side have to offer more than double to secure the youngster's services.

Meupiyou has less than a year left on his contract and his manager, Antoine Kombouaré, has publicly stated that he could be sold in this window, if there's no renewal.

The France U18 international has made only one senior appearance for Nantes and picked up an injury last October, forcing him to miss the remainder of last season.

Taking these factors into account, Wolves seem unlikely to meet Nantes' request of €10m to sign the centre-back, so there’ll either have to be some compromise or this one won’t be happening.
