Enso González has made one appearance for Wolverhampton Wanderers’ first team, and it came towards the end of last season.

The 19-year-old represented Paraguay at the 2024 Olympics in the summer and suffered a serious knee injury in Paris. He underwent surgery and has been on the sidelines since then. The winger is unlikely to feature again for Wolves this season.

González made a trip home recently and upon his arrival in the country, he had a chat with Paraguay’s Tigo Sports.

The Wolves player talked about his recovery and the possible date he could return to the pitch. His comments are relayed by Versus, who claim the English club’s medical staff expect him to recover in nine months.

“Now I’m working more in the gym and physiotherapy, I’m not getting out of there, in February I’m going to start working with the ball and in April, God willing, I’ll be back with everything to have minutes. Unfortunately, the season is going to be over, but I’m confident I can make it,” he said.

González joined the Premier League side from Paraguayan side Club Libertad in August 2023 and signed a contract until 2029.

Meanwhile, there was a new development at Molineux earlier this month. Wolves have parted ways with Gary O’Neil and appointed Vítor Pereira as his successor last week, and the Paraguay international has to convince the new manager on his return from injury.
