Wolverhampton Wanderers star Matheus Cunha has refused to be drawn on transfer speculation around him as he shines this season.

ESPN have an interview with the forward today in which he dodges the transfer question and apparent growing interest in him.

The 25-year-old has been in superb form despite Wolves' struggles this season, with eight goals and three assists in 17 games so far. They have all come in the Premier League.

He's been one of the stars of the season, boasting those numbers alongside a collection of stunning solo strikes and dazzling individual performances.

His form has reportedly not gone unnoticed by teams higher up in the Premier League, with several of the top six being credited with an interest and a potential move in the January transfer window.

That would be a huge blow to Wolves, who will be relying on the Brazilian between now and the end of the season to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Cunha certainly doesn't want to suggest he's keen to move on, insisting he'll keep his thoughts to himself despite the rumours surrounding him.

“You’re making it difficult for me (to know which club I would like to play for)," he said.

"I have some favourite teams. Well, they say they’re interested. Imagine? Then everything’s fine. I’ll keep it a secret. But I’m not going to be a hypocrite: if I end up playing for one that isn’t mine, I won’t say I was a fan of this one, no. Or no, I’ll say it and then no one will know,”

“To be honest, I think the world is discovering me as the player I am now, as a number 10, a player who can float in the middle of the field.

"So, I think that before I came with that burden of thinking that I had to be a number 9, with my back to the field, playing the role of a center forward, and whether I like it or not, I try so hard to adapt that I even forget how I became a player.

“I think that today I am at my best, which is the player I have always been since I was little. A player who floats, very versatile, who can play in different positions. That way you can show who you really are and, well, from what people are saying, I hope that all the attention they are getting at the moment is due to something positive that I am doing,”
