'You could see': Mikel Merino shares what he noticed about Myles Lewis-Skelly during Arsenal's win vs Monaco

Myles Lewis-Skelly has become the talk of the town ever since Arsenal won 3-0 against AS Monaco.
The hype surrounding Lewis-Skelly was expected after he not only made his first start in the Champions League but impressed in the process as well.
Bukayo Saka’s message to Lewis-Skelly after the contest was that his exploits against the French giants was just “the beginning” of what could prove to an excellent career.
William Saliba sounded Lewis-Skelly for praise as well alongside Jakub Kiwior and Thomas Partey after the clash.
All in all, it seems like the senior figures at Arsenal were more than satisfied with the teenage talent’s performance on Wednesday.

Mikel Merino says Myles Lewis-Skelly will “bring joy” to viewers after Arsenal vs Monaco
Mikel Merino was quizzed about his thoughts on how the 18-year-old performed and his initial feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
The Spaniard said via HaytersTV: “That’s also good news because you see that every single player who is filling in those gaps is just doing an amazing job. Today, Myles [Lewis-Skelly] with his debut did an amazing job. You could see the composure, you can see the quality he has.”
“Also, the whole squad helping him, it’s what we we’re talking about, when you have so much quality in every single player, when you’re training every single day with us, you get better. I’m really happy for him and for every player who is just in the squad and doing his best.”
But more notably, Merino also made the observation that Lewis-Skelly is an exciting player, who is bound to get viewers off the edges of their seats.
“He’s an amazing guy, he’s a really good kid, always humble, just always trying to learn from others, asking questions, not being worried about being judged for asking stupid questions or whatever, always just trying to learn with a positive attitude and he also has the technical and physical level that will bring a lot of joy to people who watch him play.”
Mikel Arteta admits Lewis-Skelly “keeps surprising” him
After Arsenal beat Monaco, Mikel Arteta was asked whether he was surprised by how well the youngster played against Monaco.
Arteta’s verdict of Lewis-Skelly was that he has a habit of leaving him stunned.
“Well, he keeps surprising us, but that's what he wants to do. That's the quality he has, that's the ambition that he's acting and preparing himself every single day. So I'm not surprised, but it's very difficult to do what he's doing,' Arteta said.
"Well, a really proud moment. He's one of our own, 18 years old. He makes his starting debut in the Champions League.”
The Spanish tactician also admitted that he feels privileged to be able to give a young prospect like Lewis-Skelly a chance to start.
“And it's just a joy to watch him, you know. It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to give a chance to somebody. So he starts to change his career.”
