Atletico Madrid made it 15 wins in a row on Wednesday as they defeated Elche in the Copa del Rey, but that result did come at a cost for Diego Simeone, who will be without his most clutch player for a little while.

Alexander Sorloth netted twice against Elche, although he was withdrawn at half time after picking up a knock. As per Diario AS, the Norwegian striker has suffered a "moderate" injury that will keep him out of Saturday's La Liga fixture against Leganes, which he is also a major doubt to face Bayer Leverkusen next week.

Sorloth has not been a regular starter for Atletico Madrid since arriving from Villarreal last summer, although his cameos from the bench have made him into a very important player for Simeone. As such, it would be a significant blow for Los Colchoneros if he were to be unavailable against Leverkusen next Tuesday.
