Charlton Athletic boss Nathan Jones has said they will ‘assess’ Josh Edwards ahead of their clash against Wigan Athletic.

Charlton Athletic substituted the defender during their game against the Red Devils on Tuesday night last time out. CAFC won 1-0 with Thierry Small getting their winner.

Edwards, 24, has been a regular for the Addicks this season. He has made 35 appearances in all competitions, 30 of which have come in the league, and he has chipped in with two goals and four assists.

official club website: “We’ll be monitoring that. It’s just stiffness really, it’s a fatigue one. It wasn’t a mechanism so it’s not a real bad pull or anything.

“It was just a fatigue one really because he covers massive distances and he plays on the edge all of the time in terms of his athleticism and his desire to get forward and recover. Physically he’s a real specimen. We’ll assess that over the next day or two and see the best way of moving forward.”
