Wycombe Wanderers have had a bid rejected by Crystal Palace for Danny Imray, according to reporter Alan Nixon on his Patreon page.
Wycombe Wanderers are keen on luring the full-back to League One before the end of the January transfer window. They are currently sat in 2nd place in the table behind Birmingham City as they eye promotion to the Championship.
Imray, 21, is currently on loan in League Two with Bromley and has impressed under the guidance of Andy Woodman. He has made 29 appearances in all competitions so far this season, 25 of which have come in the league, and he has chipped in with two goals.
In this latest update regarding his immediate future this winter, journalist Nixon has claimed on Patreon that Crystal Palace have turned down the Chairboys’ bid of around £750,000 for the player. The Eagles are believed to be big fans and don’t want him to leave.
Wycombe Wanderers’ Danny Imray bid rejected
Wycombe Wanderers may have to look elsewhere for reinforcements in Imray’s position before the deadline next week.
They could have seen Imray as someone to boost their defensive department.
Bromley landed him on a temporary basis last summer after their promotion from the National League.
He has adapted well to life with the Ravens and has slotted in nicely into their team.
Crystal Palace gave the youngster the green light to head out the exit door to get some more experience under his belt.
Bromley boss Andy Woodman said earlier this winter, as per Your Local Guardian: “I would like him to stay here. I think Palace would like him to stay here, but there is always a thing called an agent that has a different idea.“
The Londoner has been on the books of his parent club for his whole career to date and has risen up through the academy ranks of the South London outfit.
Imray has been a regular for the Eagles at various different youth levels over recent years.
He has played 42 games for their Under-21’s side to date and has chipped in with three goals and 11 assists.
The prospect also had a temporary stint away at Chelmsford City a couple of years ago and went on to play 32 times for the National League South outfit.
What now for Wycombe Wanderers target Danny Imray?
It appears Imray will be staying put at Bromley before heading back to Crystal Palace in the summer.
Wycombe Wanderers will need to decide whether to go in with an improved approach.
