Wrexham travel to Bristol Rovers on Saturday afternoon with both sides looking to claim a valuable League One win.

Wrexham make the trip to the Memorial Stadium to face a Bristol Rovers side looking for a new boss.

After a tough campaign to date and a run of three consecutive League One defeats, the Gas made the decision to part ways with Matt Taylor earlier this week. It ended his tenure at the club after a little over a year.

The call to sack Taylor comes with Rovers at 20th in the table, one place and two points above the bottom four.

As for Wrexham, they’ll be out to continue their fine form against Bristol Rovers. A four-game winning streak was halted by a draw at the weekend, playing out an entertaining 2-2 scrap with Cambridge United.

It’s a game the Red Dragons should have been winning but they remain in a strong position, sitting 3rd in the third-tier.

Phil Parkinson’s side have a hard task on their hands keeping pace with Wycombe Wanderers and Birmingham City but they’ve fared well so far with one point between them and the top two.

“A change in management often kicks teams into gear and I think that might be the case with Bristol Rovers. There is definitely more to get out of this group than has been showed, perhaps hence the departure of Matt Taylor.

“Wrexham pose a tough test for the interim management team though, so I can’t see there being an instant upturn in form after Taylor’s exit.

“I think the Red Dragons will be ran close but ultimately hold on to pick up another valuable win. I’ll go for a 1-0 away triumph this weekend.”

“Bristol Rovers have decided to make a managerial change and will hope that can inspire them to an upturn in form. They are dangerously close to the bottom four in League One. 

“Wrexham have adapted well to life in the third tier following their promotion from League Two and are 3rd in the table. 

“They have the chance to bolster their ranks in January as they look to go up again this term. 

“Parkinson’s men should have too much quality here for the Gas if they show up and play their usual game.”
