Macclesfield have signed D’Mani Mellor following his exit from Wycombe Wanderers, as announced by their official club X account.

The non-league side have brought in the attacker as they look to rise up the football pyramid from the Northern Premier League. He cut ties with Wycombe Wanderers at the end of last season and is on the move again.

Mellor, 23, initially joined Gateshead earlier this summer in the National League. However, he has left the North East outfit and has moved back to the North West.

In this latest update regarding his situation, Macclesfield have confirmed on X that he has made the switch to the Leasing.com Stadium. The Silkmen are managed by former Derby County and Blackburn Rovers player Robbie Savage these days.

They were beaten in the play-off final in the last campaign by Marine and missed out on promotion to the National League North which was a blow.

Wycombe Wanderers landed Mellor back in 2022 and he went on to make 13 appearances for the Chairboys in all competitions, chipping in with a single goal.

He slipped down the pecking order under Matt Bloomfield last term and was loaned out to Rochdale and Sutton United to get some game time under his belt.

The forward wasn’t the only player to leave Adams Park in late June. Max Stryjek, Joe Jacobson, Nathan Shepperd, Jack Wakely and Kane Vincent-Young were also released, whilst Chem Campbell, Saxon Earley, Freddie Potts, Dale Taylor, Nigel Lonwijk and Gideon Kodua went back to their parent clubs after loans.

Mellor rose up through the academy ranks at Manchester United and was a regular for the Premier League giants at various different youth levels.

The Mancunian played once for their first-team in 2019 in a Europa League clash against Astana.

He was loaned out from Old Trafford at Salford City to get some experience under his belt before Wycombe Wanderers came calling.

What now for ex-Wycombe Wanderers man?

Mellor has moved closer to his home in Manchester by moving back to Macclesfield.

His time with Wycombe Wanderers didn’t quite go to plan for him but his switch to the Silkmen is an opportunity to get some regular minutes which will do him good.

They are an ambitious side and will be aiming to go up this year as they look to return to the Football League.
