Huddersfield Town are considering Mark Briggs as a potential candidate in their new boss hunt, according to talkSPORT.
Huddersfield Town are under interim management after deciding to part ways with Michael Duff last week. HTAFC relieved him of his duties after four defeats in five games.
It marked a surprise call, but promotion is the remit and there is no hiding the Terriers have lost ground amid their struggles.
They now sit 7th, two points off the play-offs and 10 off the top six.
Huddersfield Town confirmed after Duff’s exit that Jon Worthington will lead the side until the end of the season, but the club will be eyeing contenders for the summer.
Now, talkSPORT claims one man on the Terriers’ radar is Mark Briggs.
43-year-old Briggs is out of work after his exit from USL Championship side Sacramento FC back in November. The Englishman enjoyed a highly successful spell with the side, beating MLS sides on a run to the semi-finals of the U.S. Open Cup in 2022 and now he has his eyes set on a return to his native.
Briggs is known to Huddersfield Town owner Kevin Nagle, who is chairman of Sacramento FC.
The HTAFC job would be Briggs’ first in English football despite spending much of his playing career on these shores.
