Huddersfield Town striker Dion Charles has withdrawn from the Northern Ireland squad, as confirmed on their official club website.
Huddersfield Town’s attacker has sustained a hamstring injury. He will now return to HTAFC for assessment.
Charles, 29, made the switch to join the Terriers in the January transfer window from fellow League One side Bolton Wanderers. He has since made 11 appearances in all competitions for the Yorkshire club but hasn’t managed to score yet.
In this latest update, Northern Ireland’s FA have announced on their website that he has had to pull out of their upcoming games. They face Switzerland on Friday in Belfast before they head to Stockholm next Tuesday to play Sweden.
Their manager Michael O’Neill, who has been at Stoke City in the past, has had this to say ahead of their upcoming friendlies: “I’m looking forward to regrouping for these important warm-up games against very good opposition.”
