'It's unfortunate' – Charlton Athletic to 'assess' attacker as Nathan Jones shares injury update

Charlton Athletic boss Nathan Jones has said they will need to ‘assess’ Dan Kanu.
Charlton Athletic gave the attacker some Under-21’s minutes against AFC Bournemouth earlier this week. CAFC are back in League One action this weekend at home to Peterborough United.
Kanu, 20, is now an injury worry after rolling his ankle against the Cherries. He has made 18 appearances in all competitions so far this season, 15 of which have come in the league, and he has chipped in with one goal and one assist.
In this latest update regarding his condition, Jones has said, as per the official club website: “He rolled his ankle. We have to assess that and see where we are. It’s unfortunate as he just needed some minutes to keep himself fresh and focused for the run-in. The others [Tom McIntyre, Alex Mitchell and Gassan Ahadme] got good minutes which we’re pleased with and they came through unscathed. It was needed – a very competitive game as well. We’ll see where we are with Dan after a scan. It’s a bit similar to what he did against Birmingham earlier on this season.”
