Birmingham City continue their League One victory lap on Thursday night as they face Stevenage away from home.

Birmingham City come into their midweek clash with Stevenage looking to move past the 100-point mark in League One. BCFC have already confirmed promotion and will be going back up to the Championship as third-tier winners.

The Blues are unbeaten in nine in League One, winning seven and drawing two over that run. Last time out, they triumphed over relegation-threatened Burton Albion, winning 2-1 away from home.

Chris Davies’ side, who have record-breaking points tally in their sights, emerged victorious thanks to two goals in quick succession from Alfons Sampsted and Jay Stansfield.

As for Stevenage, Alex Revell looks set to guide them to a respectable mid-table finish in his first season since starting a second stint as permanent boss.

The Boro sit 14th in the League One table as it stands, 12 points clear of the relegation zone and 17 away from the play-offs. The haven’t been in the best form of late but returned to winning ways last time out, defeating Bristol Rovers.

An early Jamie Reid goal was enough to secure victory for Stevenage on Easter Monday.

Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…

James Ray

“These games where both sides already have their fate sealed can be tough to predict, but Birmingham City aren’t a normal League One team and are chasing down a record-breaking points total over their final four games of the season.

“It means that, despite the rotation, there is still a goal BCFC are aiming for. Against a Stevenage side who can be a tricky customer, but are ultimately on the beach, the visitors will be favourites to claim all three points.

“I’ll back them to do so too, moving closer to that 106-point target set by Reading all those years ago. It would put the Blues within four points of the tally with three games left to play.”

Prediction: Stevenage 0-2 Birmingham City

Who plays at Elland Road?

Harry Mail

Stevenage dug deep to win away at Bristol Rovers and will get a free hit at Birmingham City here. Boro don’t have too much to play for here and will have some freedom.

“Alex Revell’s side had won only one in eight before their victory at the Memorial Ground. They will be relieved to have returned to winning ways.

“As for BCFC, they have had a brilliant season and will want to end on a high. Chris Davies has done an impressive job since his move to the Midlands.

“The Blues are already up and have sealed the title. They will want as many points as possible though and I fancy them to win here.”

Prediction: Stevenage 1-2 Birmingham City
