Bolton Wanderers and Wycombe Wanderers meet in League One on Friday in a crucial game in the promotion fight.
Bolton Wanderers come into this weekend’s clash with Wycombe Wanderers looking to cling onto their fading play-off hopes. BWFC are only three points off the top six with four games left but their poor form has seen their chances dwindle.
The Trotters looked to have bounced back from three consecutive losses by recording back-to-back wins against Wigan Athletic and Bristol Rovers. However, they have now lost back-to-back games against Rotherham United and Barnsley.
The loss to the Tykes last weekend looked to be particularly damaging, losing 4-1 against an out-of-form side.
As for Wycombe Wanderers, they’re still fighting to catch Wrexham coming into the Bolton Wanderers clash. Both now have four games left to play, and the Chairboys are just a point off the Red Dragons.
Their momentum has slowed somewhat under Mike Dodds but they’ve still won four, lost one and drawn one in their last six.
Consecutive 1-0 wins over Huddersfield Town and Stevenage have pulled them to within touching distance of the top two, especially after Wrexham draw with Wigan Athletic last time out.

“I just wonder whether Bolton Wanderers have lost momentum at the worst possible time. They were really gathering steam under Steven Schumacher but recent defeats, especially that thrashing against Barnsley, has been a real punch to the gut.
“With Wycombe Wanderers hunting down 2nd, I think the visitors might be able to pick up an important result here.
“The Chairboys are capable of frustrating BWFC but they’ve got the killer instinct at the top of the pitch to take chances when they come. It will likely be a tense game, but one that the visitors ultimately come out on top in.”

“Bolton Wanderers have to win this one as they chase down the play-offs. BWFC’s slump in form has come at a really bad time.
“The Trotters looked on their way after their win away at Wigan Athletic. However, they have since struggled for results.
“Wycombe Wanderers continue to chase down Wrexham in 2nd. The Chairboys will want to keep the pace with the Red Dragons.
“Mike Dodds’ side are solid and will fancy their chances in this one. It will be a close one but I can see the visitors sneaking it.”
