Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson has said he has ‘enjoyed’ their ‘rivalry’ with Stockport County.

Wrexham face the Hatters this weekend in their upcoming League One clash at the Racecourse Ground. They have risen up the league together over recent years.

The Red Dragons are now sat in 3rd place in the table as they eye promotion to the Championship. Meanwhile, their upcoming opponents are in 5th.

Parkinson has said, as per a report by the Evening Leader: “We’ve had some great games against Stockport over the years. There’s a mutual respect between us and them. Dave’s done a great job there and they’ve built the club up well.  They’re a club which went to the Conference North and they’ve had to build the club back.

“I can remember being up against Stockport in the Championship but they dropped and their fall was a greater one than ours. Both clubs have got interesting histories and great stories over the last few years. We’ve enjoyed the rivalry over the last few years and we’ve always looked forward to games against them, and this is going to be no different.”
