Hibernian have joined Rotherham United and Huddersfield Town in pursuit of departing Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper Mark Marosi, according to reporter Alan Nixon on his Patreon.
The stopper is leaving Shrewsbury Town this summer and will officially become available as a free agent at the end of this month.
Marosi, 30, is on the radar of fellow League One clubs Wrexham, Birmingham City, Rotherham United and Huddersfield Town, according to a report by the Shropshire Star.
In this latest update regarding his situation by journalist Nixon on his Patreon, Hibs are keen on luring him up to Scotland.
The player has recently told the Shrews’ website:“I want to thank the club for bringing me in and letting me be part of its history. I want to thank the managers and all of the staff, not just the football side but behind-the-scenes as well.
“And lastly I want to thank the fans for all the love and support you have shown me over the three years, you guys are amazing.”
Rotherham United and Huddersfield Town target eyed by Scottish side
Rotherham United are in need of a new ‘keeper following Viktor Johansson’s exit to Stoke City.
The Millers are preparing for life in League One following their relegation and have been busy on the transfer front over recent times as Steve Evans looks to guide them to an immediate promotion back to the Championship.
Huddersfield Town dropped into the third tier as well last term and are eyeing new additions under new manager Michael Duff.
The Yorkshire pair could both see Marosi as someone to bolster their goalkeeping department. However, they may now need to fend off interest from Hibs.
Birmingham City have also been mentioned as a potential suitor but have recently snapped up Ryan Allsop from Birmingham City. Meanwhile, Wrexham have brought back Arthur Okonkwo on a permanent basis after he left Arsenal.
More on Marosi
Marosi has been Shrewsbury Town’s number one for the last three years and losing him is a blow for Paul Hurst’s side.
He has also had stints in the past at Wigan Athletic, Doncaster Rovers and Coventry City and has a big decision to make on where to go next.
