Kadji, 21, is out of contract at the end of the season and will be weighing up his options. He has made 42 appearances in all competitions for Weston-super-Mare to date, 41 of which have come in the league, and he has chipped in with three goals and six assists.

In this latest update regarding his situation in the sixth tier, Football League World claim he has emerged on the radar of the Millers as they start making some recruitment plans. The South Yorkshire outfit have recently handed their full-time position to Matt Hamshaw following his interim spell in charge. They sacked Steve Evans after a poor run of form.

Shrewsbury Town are also being linked with a swoop and could pose some competition. The Shrews have been relegated to League Two and will be eyeing an immediate promotion under the guidance of former Blackpool, Oxford United and Charlton Athletic manager Michael Appleton.

Who plays at Elland Road?

Rotherham United could see Kadji as someone to boost their midfield ranks. RUFC could do with adding some more quality to their squad over the coming months.

He is still young and will have benefitted from his regular football at Weston-super-Mare this term. Kadji has potential to develop down the line so could be a useful long-term addition.

Bristol City cut ties with him last year and he subsequently joined his current club on a free transfer. He rose up through the academy of the Robins and was a regular for them at various different youth levels.

Kadji went on to play four times for the first-team at Ashton Gate. He also had loan spells away at Bath City, Swindon Town, Forest Green Rovers and Aldershot Town to get some experience.

What now for Rotherham United?

Rotherham United have endured a disappointing season and will hope for better next time around. Hamshaw has the chance to put his own stamp on RUFC when the next window opens for business.

The Millers were relegated from the Championship 12 months ago. They finished in the bottom three along with Birmingham City and Huddersfield Town.

They were targeting an immediate promotion but things didn’t work out under Evans in the end. Hamshaw’s men find themselves in 13th position in the table with two fixtures left to play.

Rotherham United play Stevenage away next this weekend. They then face Peterborough United on the final day.
