Sunderland, Derby County and Notts County have all been named as admirers of Gateshead defender Kenton Richardson in a report from HITC.

Sunderland, Derby County and Notts County are said to be keen on Richardson, who has set his sights on a move back to the EFL after a starring stint with Gateshead.

The 25-year-old has been an influential performer in the National League, mainly operating as a centre-back. He also offers his services at either right or left-back, positions where he had spent much of his career before joining the Heed.

Durham-born Richardson sees his deal end later this month and as he targets a Football League return, he has interest from all three divisions.

Championship trio Sunderland, Derby County and Oxford United are showing an interest in the Gateshead star, according to HITC. Peterborough United and Barnsley are monitoring his situation from League One, while League Two side Notts County are also keen.

Richardson’s contract situation means he will be able to move on a free transfer.
