Wrexham are poised to sign Hull City winger Ryan Longman with Oxford United boss Gary Rowett revealing his side are not expected to sign him, as per a report by the Oxford Mail.
Wrexham are set to lure the attacker down to League One this winter. They are currently sat in 3rd place in the table behind Birmingham City and Wycombe Wanderers.
Longman, 24, sees his contract at Hull City expire at the end of the season and he is due to become a free agent in the summer as things stand.
Oxford United manager Rowett has said, as per a report by the Oxford Mail: “He’s a player that I’ve worked with before. I think he’s got obvious qualities. He was a player we were certainly interested in, but I don’t expect us to do that deal and sign that player.
“We’ve had lots of targets and lots of deals that we’re potentially trying to get down the line. Certainly he was just one of those. You see it where we’ve got plenty of players on our bench who haven’t maybe had as much game time as we’ve spoke about.”
He added: “We’ll look to the market, but we’ve also got players here that want game time and want the opportunity. It’s always a balancing act.”
