Blackburn Rovers expected to sanction defender exit, EFL clubs facing MLS transfer battle

Blackburn Rovers are expected to let Leo Duru leave on loan later this month with EFL and MLS clubs keen, as per the Lancashire Telegraph.
Blackburn Rovers are mainly focused on their efforts to strengthen the squad in the winter transfer window as they look to maintain their bid for a play-off spot.
However, even before new players come through the door, there’s scope for some to move out of Ewood Park this month too.
There are fringe players who could benefit from fresh starts, but there’s also academy-reared youngsters who will be hoping to gain senior opportunities elsewhere over the second half of the season.
Among the latter is talented right-back Leo Duru, and it seems Blackburn Rovers are willing to green-light an exit.
The Lancashire Telegraph reports that Rovers are expected to send the United States youth international out on loan. A move may not come until later this month, but interest in the 19-year-old is already emerging in the early stages of the window.
League Two duo Carlisle United and Barrow were admirers in the summer and would be keen on a deal again, while there are unnamed MLS sides who are interested in Duru too.
