The72’s writers offer their Bradford City vs Newport County prediction ahead of the League Two clash on Saturday.
Bradford City could sneak into the play-offs on the final day. They need to win and hope Barrow and Crawley Town lose against Mansfield Town and Grimsby Town respectively.
The Bantams won 3-2 away at Barrow last time out to keep their promotion hopes alive. Tyler Smith scored a late winner for them at Holker Street.
Graham Alexander’s side have been in strong form over recent weeks. They are unbeaten in their last six games.
As for Newport County, they are 17th in the table and have nothing to play for now. They could finish the season in 15th if they get three points at Valley Parade.
Graham Coughlan’s side have a big summer as they look to improve next year. There could be both comings and goings from Rodney Parade over the coming months.
The Exiles lost 1-0 at home to Salford City last weekend. They only had 35% possession against the Ammies and struggled to create chances.

“The dream is alive still for Bradford City and they just need to get their job done this weekend. The Bantams are on a roll at the moment and will be full of confidence.
“They need results to go their way but it will mean nothing if they can’t get three points against Newport County.
“The Exiles have been really poor recently and have lost their last seven games on the spin. They haven’t won since mid-March when they beat AFC Wimbledon away.
“Therefore, Bradford City should have enough in the tank to get the victory. Whether that will be enough though remains to be seen.”

“I think Bradford City should be claiming all three points here. Newport County are in abysmal form and it would be a surprise if they were to suddenly turn up on the final game of the season.
“It means the Bantams will be relying on favours from Mansfield Town and Grimsby Town if they’re to break into the top seven.
“That would be a pretty remarkable achievement given that Graham Alexander’s side have been inconsistent and on the periphery of the play-off fight all season. Time will tell if it’s enough but if not, City can still take positives from their end to the campaign as they gear up for a big summer.”
