Stoke City boss Mark Robins says no decision has been made on Nathan Lowe’s future yet but his priorities are the player and SCFC.

Stoke City have long been aware of the potential and ability possessed by striker Nathan Lowe, who has been working his way through the SCFC youth ranks.

The 19-year-old has one goal to his name in 17 outings for the Potters first-team, with many of those appearances coming off the bench. On loan at Walsall though, the youngster has caught alight.

Lowe has 17 goals and six assists to his name in 29 games for the League Two leaders. His stunning form has caught the eyes of other suitors and has also seen him linked with a return to Stoke City under new boss Mark Robins.

Now, Robins has addressed the immediate future of Lowe.

As quoted by Stoke on Trent Live, the Potters manager acknowledged that the prolific prospect has ‘put himself in the shop window’ with his eye-catching form, and while he’s aware of Walsall’s desire to keep Lowe, his priorities are the player and his own club.

At this stage though, no decision has been made over his fate.

“He’s a young player and young players have to be given time,” the Stoke City boss said.

“In time he will be a really good player and what he’s doing at the moment is giving himself every chance. He’s put himself in the shop window and made people sit up and take notice of him.

“He will end up with 20-plus goals this season if he remains at Walsall – we haven’t made that decision yet – and I also know it is doing him the world of good. Mat Sadler is desperate to keep him and I’m not in the market to upset people – but what matters to me is Stoke City and the individual.

“My first priority will be to assess whether it is right to bring him back at this stage and have him involved – not knowing 100 per cent what the impact will be but sometimes your hands are tied and you’re forced because of circumstances.”
