Leicester City parting ways with Steve Cooper presents an attractive job midway through the Premier League season.
The Foxes are a point clear of the relegation zone and don’t look as doomed as clubs fighting against the drop often do when they turf a manager out in the winter.
Multiple names have already been linked with taking over at Leicester City, and one of the most prominent is Ruud van Nistelrooy.
The 48-year-old had a pretty decent spell recently as interim at Manchester United, and has left the Red Devils as he looks to kickstart his senior managerial career elsewhere.
He’s currently the bookmakers’ favourite, although that means little given he’s not the first man to hold that position since Cooper left.
Van Nistelrooy is also being linked with the vacant HSV Hamburg job, having played for the German club previously. Naturally that could present some tempting competition for Leicester, but it doesn’t look like HSV are rushing in there.
Tageblatt report he’s one of a number of options with everything at the initial stage right now, and Hamburger Morgen Post says similar.
They appear to want a process at HSV, with a number of candidates being considered, and that dithering presents the opportunity to Leicester City.
