Leicester manager Steve Cooper had to shuffle his side, but also suprisingly not starting Stephy Mavididi, giving Kasey McAteer a starting position.

Bilal El Khannouss and Kaleb Okoli also in the starting line-up. Return as well fot Jamie Vardy, so felt the line-up was one competitive

The start to the game was not at all what we hiped for, losing Harry Winks with injury after just 8 minutes. Oliver Skipp came on.

Chelsea pressed hard and it looked a grim affair early on. The Leicester defenders were all tested hard and also Mads Hermansen had to show his agility.

Chelsea possession must have been 90/10 or even more in these first minutes, showing quality and play we have not seen from an away team at King Power for a long time.

it was not possible to hold Chelsea on any distance, but still the way they scored the first goal must be said to one very easy. Wout Faes could just have kicked the ball to a throw in, but instead he lost his battle and the ball ended in the feet of Jackson, 1-0 to Chelsea.

Leicester surprisingly looked like the came out of some type of awakining from that point on, getting some type of momentum. Soumare, Ndidi and El Khannouss managed to take control. Victor Kristiansen also contributed, getting higher in the field as it gave Leicester a good and offensive touch. Kasey McAteer coming close to scoring late fiest half, but his attempt was cleverly saved.

Coming out second half we could really dream of some type of a positive result for Leicester, but of course pushing for a goal would give Chelsea opportunities.

Chelsea scored their second goal in the 75th minute, Enzo Fernandez being the goalscorer. They had earlier been very close to goals, but Mads Hermansen saved from close range. Chelsea also spoiled a few chances as well.

Steve Cooper made a mumber of substituions in the 2nd half, giving minutes to Patson Daka, Stephy Mavididi, Jordan Ayew and Bobby De Cordova-Reid.

Leicester pushed on and everyone believed a penalty would be rewarded from a Mavididi incident, but VAR did not agree.

Long into stoppage time Leicester pushed for another penalty. De Cordova-Reid was pulled down and this time VAR did agree. Jordan Ayew was safe from the spot, goal scored, good penalty.

We knew this would be a very difficult test, but the end to the game shows a character in this team that gives optimism despite defeat.
