Leicester City have endured a difficult run in the Premier League this season, winning only two of their 13 matches so far.

The Foxes have managed to beat AFC Bournemouth and Southampton, and both these wins came in October. Since then, they have picked up just one point in the last five league games.

Leicester’s series of poor results saw them part ways with Steve Cooper and appoint Ruud van Nistelrooy as his successor last Friday.

The Dutchman left Manchester United last month, after Ruben Amorim’s arrival at Old Trafford, and has now returned to England. He wasn’t in charge during Leicester’s 4-1 defeat to Brentford at the weekend.

After the tie, Leicester goalkeeper Mads Hermansen had a chat with Denmark’s Viaplay, and his comments are relayed by Camp.dk. The 24-year-old has given this take on what Van Nistelrooy’s appointment means to him and his Foxes teammates.

“I’m very much looking forward to that, it will be good for the squad and for the club to get some new eyes on things, some new ideas. We absolutely need that, and we go in with an open mind to take new measures for us,” he said.

The 24-year-old has kept only one clean sheet and conceded 27 goals from 13 games this season.

Van Nistelrooy’s first game in charge will be against West Ham United at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday, followed by another home game against Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend.
