Arsenal target Luís Campos approached for Saudi Arabia role

Luís Campos is currently in talks to extend his stay at Paris Saint-Germain, however, they aren’t the only ones interested in the Portuguese sporting director’s services.
Campos has guided the new project at PSG as the reigning Ligue 1 champions, still dominant on the domestic stage, have turned away from the bling-bling era, instead focusing on recruiting high-potential youngsters, whilst also integrating more players from the youth academy.
Campos' future with Les Parisiens is, however, uncertain. His contract runs until the end of the season, and whilst there are discussions over a renewal, there is no guarantee that they will reach a positive conclusion, as per L'Équipe. All the while, other projects are being presented to him.
Campos holds good relations with Arsenal’s Arteta
With Edu leaving Arsenal, Campos is one of the names on the Gunners’ shortlist. Having identified Mikel Arteta as a managerial target in the summer of 2023, before ultimately hiring Luis Enrique, Campos holds a good relationship with the former, as per RMC Sport. Names such as Thiago Scuro, Grégory Lorenzi, Tomas Rosicky and Per Mertesacker have all been linked with the soon-to-be-vacant position at Arsenal.
However, as reported by RMC Sport and confirmed by Get French Football News, Campos has another proposition at his disposal. He has been approached by the Saudi Football Federation to become the Director of Football in the Gulf State. That comes amid the growth of the Saudi Pro League, driven by large investments in recruitment, as well as the nation’s plans to host the FIFA World Cup in 2034.
Amid his negotiations with PSG, Campos may find himself with a wealth of options at his disposal as he looks to decide his future.
