Maghnes Akliouche (22) made the decision to remain at AS Monaco in the summer, despite reported interest from Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain. That decision remains unchanged, despite AC Milan now entering the race.

“It is his decision and ours that the priority is to stay. We are in good conversations with him and his agent about a contract extension,” said Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro in an interview attended by Get French Football News back in July. Later that month, the France youth international extended his deal with the Principality club until 2028.

However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan are targeting a January move for the playmaker. But Monaco, will remain unmoved. Akliouche is not for sale in January, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.

Whilst he is unlikely to leave this winter, a summer move may be on the cards. Monaco’s model is such that it becomes necessary to sell their prestigious academy products and having confirmed his promise from his breakthrough season during the current campaign, a move couldbe on the cards come the end of the season. Many top clubs will once again return to the fore for Akliouche.
