Caleb Wiley (19) could miss several weeks of action after suffering a shoulder injury in RC Strasbourg Alsace’s 2-1 defeat to OGC Nice on Sunday night.
The USMNT international earned a rare start for Strasbourg, having struggled to displace Diego Moreira, who has shone at left-wing-back. However, his night was cut short. Wiley landed awkwardly just before the break, clutching his shoulder. He was subsequently replaced at the half-time interval.
Doukouré also out injured for Strasbourg
In a post-match press conference, attended by Get French Football News, Liam Rosenior confirmed the nature of the injury. “Caleb dislocated his shoulder, which was a real blow for us,” said the Strasbourg manager. “I felt as though we missed Caleb in the second half,” he added.
Wiley wasn’t the only RCSA player to go off injured in Sunday’s game with Ismaël Doukouré also withdrawn midway through the first half with a knee injury, the exact nature of which has not yet been defined.
