Chelsea set to loan Caleb Wiley to Strasbourg

Following completing the signing of Caleb Wiley (19), Chelsea are planning to send the former Atlanta United left-back on loan to sister club Strasbourg, according to The Athletic. The Blues have paid a fee in the region of £8.5m for the American defender.

Wiley is not the first player set to make the switch to Strasbourg on loan during the summer transfer window. Andrey Santos is also expected to spend another season on loan at the Alsation club after spending the second half of the season on loan in Ligue 1, Fabrizio Romano reports.

The left-back is already in France as he prepares to represent the United States at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. As a result, Wiley is set to miss Chelsea’s pre-season tour of his home nation. The USMNT are set to face France in the opening game of the men’s competition on Wednesday. The 19-year-old has previously made 2 senior appearances for his country.
