According to a study performed by Odoxa, Kylian Mbappé's (25) popularity is in decline in France. The institute surveyed 1005 people aged 18 and above, as well as 434 amateur footballers about the Real Madrid star and France captain.

Only 54% of those surveyed have a good opinion of Mbappé which represents a 12-point decline from a previous study in April. Only 58% of people believe that the forward is likeable which is a huge drop from 2019 when 80% thought the forward was likeable.

Only a slim majority (52%) also believed that the forward was a good choice for the captain of the France team. 54% would like Didier Deschamps to appoint someone else, and 58% believed that Antoine Griezmann (33) was a better choice

There was almost universal agreement that Mbappé would be a success in Real Madrid (73%) and 57% believe that the team were stronger with him. For Ligue 1, those surveyed did not think that Ligue 1 was less enjoyable for his absence (59%) but  52% stated that Paris Saint-Germain were weaker for losing the star.
