Marseille nearing closer to €25m move for Manchester United's Mason Greenwood

According to Fabrice Hawkins, Manchester United and Marseille are negotiating a transfer fee for Mason Greenwood (22). The Premier League club are commanding a fee in the region of €25m plus bonuses for the former England U21 international to leave Old Trafford this summer.

OM are leading the race to sign Greenwood this summer. The Manchester United forward rejected advances from Lazio in favour of teaming up with the newly appointed Roberto De Zerbi at the Stade Vélodrome, Foot Mercato report. The Serie A club had a bid rejected worth €20m for the English striker.

Greenwood had a successful loan spell in La Liga with Getafe last season, scoring 8 goals and registering 6 assists. Manchester United are unwilling to entertain the prospect of the 22-year-old rejoining the squad at Carrington after he was charged with attempted rape, assault, and engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour. These charges were later dropped in 2023.
