Paris Saint-Germain have handed a definitive ban to a supporter, who racially abused Lee Kang-in (23) during a training session last week.

Ahead of Sunday’s Le Classique, which PSG ultimately won 3-0 against arch-rivals Olympique de Marseille, the club held an open training session. As the players came over to shake the hands of the fans in attendance, one fan told Lee Kang-in, “Go, my Chinese [man]!” The video was posted on the social media site Snapchat.

The video was widely criticised on social media and the club have now reacted. Posting on (formerly Twitter), PSG announced that the fan guilty of the racist remark towards Lee Kang-in had received a definitive ban from the supporters’ group. The club added that apologies were made to the player following the training session.

PSG added, “PSG does not accept any form of racism”. Lee Kang-in joined Les Parisiens in the summer of 2023 from Valencia and has since gone on to make 48 appearances for the reigning Ligue 1 champions.
