Borussia Dortmund's Mats Hummels (35) speaking to DAZN after his side's 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-final suggested that his team had won because of the intense effort they showed.

Hummels explained, "If we want to beat such a team, we have to run more. We also have to say that PSG has two or three players who do not make every metre defensively, [but do] bring incredible offensive qualities." The former World Cup winner with Germany added, "They run less, but unfortunately that doesn't make them worse."

PSG demonstrated a threat throughout the game coming agonisingly close to scoring multiple times during their visit to the Signal Iduna Park. However, the post or Gregor Kobel (26) was often there to meet their efforts meaning Les Parisiens will return to the Parc des Princes hoping to overturn a narrow lead.

PSG in need of another comeback

This isn't unfamiliar territory for PSG. They entered the second leg of the quarter-final against Barcelona having to overturn an unfavourable 3-1 deficit, and at the very least the French champions will be attempting to achieve this with the stadium in full support.

Still, Dortmund have tasted blood and will be keen to return to the Champions League final for the first time since they lost against Bayern Munich 11 years ago.
