The Get French Football News 100 2024 comprises our selection of the top one hundred talents that French football has to offer, judged solely on their performances in 2024. To be eligible for the GFFN 100, a player must be a registered squad member of a Ligue 1 or a Ligue 2 club on the 31st of December 2024 – heading into the January transfer window.
Players that are eligible are judged on all their professional appearances in 2024, regardless of whether or not they were playing abroad for a part of the calendar year. This applies to the international appearances they might have accumulated as well. Players are ranked in descending order with the highest-rated talent ranked 1st and the 100th highest-rated talent ranked 100th.
The pages ahead contain detailed profiles of all 100 players who are drawn from 18 Ligue 1 clubs and one Ligue 2 club with the race for top spot blown wide open given Kylian Mbappé’s departure from France and the anti-star strategy adopted at his former club, PSG. Although this publication looks back at the last 12 months, it's also a guide for 2025 and proves that French football is set to continue its steep upward trajectory for some time to come.
