Liverpool picked up an important three points in the Premier League on Saturday evening after beating Wolves.

The Reds have been looking good so far this season and are now ticking along very nicely.

Although the 2-1 win at Molineux was not a pretty one by any means, it moved Liverpool right to the top of the Premier League table.

Just six games in, that does mean little at this stage. However, what it does signal is that Liverpool absolutely have the right man in the dugout.

Following the exit of Jurgen Klopp in the summer, there had been an expectation that the Reds would suffer a bit drop off. But Arne Slot has proven to be an excellent appointment.

In fact, Slot has been so good that the Liverpool head coach created a piece of history with victory over Wolves.

Arne Slot creates Liverpool history

Liverpool have won five of their opening six games in the Premier League this season, recording 15 points.

The Reds did suffer one blip, of course, with the loss to Nottingham Forest at Anfield two weeks ago a hard one to shift from the mind.

Nevertheless, that one defeat aside, Slot has Liverpool in perfect form.

Interestingly, the Reds’ win at Molineux means that they have now won their first three away games of the season.

And according to liverpoolfc.com, that makes Slot the first ever manager – or head coach – to taste victory in the first three league games of his reign on the road.

Given the illustrious names who have managed the Reds over their 132 years of existence, that is quite the feat.

As well as being entered into the annals of Liverpool history, Slot has also now guided the Reds to three away wins in the Premier League at the start of the season for only the third time ever. The two being 2018/19 and 2019/20 under Klopp.

Liverpool have got a good one

There are obviously more important things to be spoken about following Liverpool’s win over Wolves, but this is impressive nontheless.

Completely new to the league upon his appointment in the summer, nobody would have truly believed that Slot would start as well as he has.

Of course, the Dutchman has taken over a very strong Liverpool squad that was left in a great place by Klopp, but he’s still had to do the work.

And while Slot continues to play down the fixture list, the three away games Liverpool have faced so far have not been easy.

With all the positivity surrounding newly-promoted Ipswich on opening day, heading to Portman Road was a test. Then came Old Trafford and although Liverpool battered Man United, that has historically been the least favourite ground of any Reds manager.

Finally, a win on Saturday at Molineux in what was a difficult match. Well done, Arne, Liverpool have got a good one in you!
