Diogo Jota was Liverpool’s saviour once again on Tuesday night.
The Portuguese striker came off of the bench against Nottingham Forest with 66 minutes on the clock to head in the equaliser at the City Ground with his first touch of the ball, leaving many to praise Arne Slot for his tactical masterclass.
The action highlighted once again the Portuguese star’s lethal instincts in front of goal as the 28-year-old has established himself at Anfield as the Reds’ best finisher over recent seasons.
Since returning from a muscle injury, Jota has now scored three goals in six Premier League appearances, despite not starting in any of the games.
Slot will hope he can keep the injury-prone star fit for the remainder of the campaign as the Portuguese international consistently shows his worth and his Nottingham Forest goal has helped the 28-year-old surpass a Reds legend in the goalscoring chart at Anfield.
