Harvey showed love to his teammates competing for minutes in his spot.
Liverpool FC's Harvey Elliott is in line for a potential start against Tottenham Hotspur in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final. After breaking his foot while representing the England U-21s earlier this season, Elliott is starting to ease his way back into the squad and head coach Arne Slot's plans, even starting the EFL Cup quarterfinal and scoring in the 3-1 win against Southampton.
Dominik Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones have played most of the minutes at the 10 spot in his absence. In an interview with The Times, Elliott acknowledged the competition for a starting spot with Jones and Szoboszlai, describing them as 'world-class' footballers:
"I feel like that's my strongest point, especially when it comes to the creativity side of things and the playmaking."
"That's the position I play at England and I feel like I can really show my attributes. But on top of that, we have two other world-class number 10s in Curtis and Dom."
"It's not going to be easy at all. It's just about waiting for my moment, my opportunities and trying to take them with everything I have."
"On top of that, when I do get brought in, whether it's as a sub or wherever I start, I just want to try to contribute for the team and be the best possible player I can."
With Liverpool playing Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup this weekend, Harvey could also be in line for some minutes in that fixture, which could prove valuable for him. Hopefully, he will be able to produce some of that trademark magic.
